The CK:500 Series Outdoor Measurement Kits have been designed to be used with a Cirrus Research Sound Level Meter to provide the ability to measure noise levels outdoors for short periods of time such as overnight or during noise surveys.
The MK:429 Microphone unit is not designed to use over longer periods although the windshield provides protection from light rain, moisture and dirt.
The system is simple to use, and allows the Sound Level Meter to be removed from the case for use as a standard hand held instrument.
The CK:500 kits comprises the MK:429 Lightweight Outdoor Microphone unit, the a weatherproof case and a 10m cable to connect the two components.
The Sound Level Meter is held securely within the case to protect it during transit and operation. The MK:429 Outdoor Microphone has integral birdspikes and a windshield to protect the microphone capsule.
The MK:429 unit is designed to fit a standard tripod (not supplied as standard). Please note that the image (left) shows the Microphone unit mounted onto an optional tripod. The CT:3 Tripod can be supplied as a cost option.
