EGM renews ISO9001:2015 Certification
Quality, why does it matter?
This month at EGM, we’re proud to announce that we’re been awarded our most recent Quality Certificate, ISO 9001:2015. It’s a process that we undertake regularly, as this simple accreditation really matters to us – in fact, many of our multi-national clients require it before they’ll consider working with us.
But why does this certificate matter so much? We thought we’d delve a little more deeply into its significance. Of course, at a basic level, it gives our customers confidence in our processes, efficiency and productivity; but the quality movement also provides a backbone to industry and commerce all around the world.

What is a fixed gas detection system?
Fixed gas detection systems are designed to provide 24/7 protection for your workplace. They’re installed to warn you if there’s any danger from toxic gas exposure, low oxygen levels, or a risk of combustion from flammable gases.

New CO2 Transmission Risk Monitor
Get back to business with clean, safe air
An exciting new product
In this month’s blog, we’d like to introduce an exciting and timely new product. The Honeywell Transmission Risk Air Monitor has been specifically developed to keep your workplace or business safe – and importantly, open! If people come to you for work, study, dining or exercise, it’s a low cost, efficient way to enable you to keep the air they breathe fresh and clean.
The importance of calibration
Last month we talked about the importance of bump testing, and this month we’re here to talk about calibration. Calibration is sometimes known as ‘periodic verification’, and it’s a process that’s essential to assess, test and correct the accuracy of your instruments. It should be done in line with your manufacturer’s instructions, and at least every six months.
Bump Testing’: why and how you need to do it
All companies have a responsibility to make sure that the place they ask staff to work in is safe, and in so doing, make sure their business is safeguarded against unthinkable situations involving hazardous gases. In everyday life, we wouldn’t neglect our household smoke alarms, so ‘bump testing’ workplace gas detectors is every bit as important.
Air, it's a balancing act.
Does your workplace have equipment that could affect the quality of the air you’re working in? Many industrial, commercial and medical settings house equipment containing different gases, or they have machinery and metals that can affect oxygen levels – and that can be really dangerous.
An HSE assessment of your workplace will have been carried out, and occupational health will have made recommendations, but proper monitoring of the oxygen around you is still essential. At EGM we can advise you, offer a free site survey, and provide specialist equipment for all budgets.
